Overview
You will join AFRY’s Energy Division in the UK to provide electrical engineering expertise across project stages, from feasibility to operation support. You’ll support design reviews, deliver technical outputs, and help navigate safety, sustainability, and commercial risks. The role sits within a multidisciplinary, international team delivering energy infrastructure projects. You’ll contribute to shaping solutions for sustainable energy systems and engage in business development and mentoring.

Responsibilities
- Provide engineering/technical guidance to identify and resolve project challenges
- Review designs and contribute technical comments
- Deliver conceptual, preliminary and detailed design outputs (drawings, specs, cost estimates, schedules)
- Prepare technical reports, calculations and sketches
- Attend factory and site acceptance tests and monitor construction activities
- Pursue continuous improvement of engineering knowledge and processes
- Identify health & safety, design, sustainability and commercial risks and help mitigate them
- Support business development, including client engagement and bids
- Mentor and develop younger engineers
Key requirements
- Minimum 2:1 degree in Electrical Engineering
- Chartered status or working towards (Senior/Principal level)
- Significant knowledge/experience with LV to HV industrial electrical infrastructure
- Knowledge of electrical British and international standards and regulations
- Strong problem-solving and initiative, able to structure unclear problems into actions
- Excellent written and spoken business English, ability to communicate with senior management
- Willingness to travel and work under pressure
