AFRY offers a challenging career path in one of the world's leading energy industry consultants. Due to the growth of our business, we have a new opportunity for an Experienced Scientist Engineer or Mathematician to join an expanding team of Safety and Reliability specialists in AFRY's Nuclear Business Unit. The successful candidate will assist with the development and implementation of a variety of projects in nuclear safety and reliability services for a wide range of domestic and international clients.
You will contribute to projects in the following areas:
- Hazard Identification techniques
- Safety and Hazard Analysis
- Quantified Risk Assessment
- Engineering design substantiation
- Option studies
- Plant and Site licensing
- Safety case documentation production review and update
- Management and development of new and existing client relationships
- Management of small and larger scale projects
- Mentoring emerging talent
Qualifications:
It would be great if you had some of the following skills but don't worry if you don't tick every box; we'll help you develop along the way:
- Science or Engineering degree in a relevant STEM subject
- Experience in the nuclear sector
- An aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis including statistics
- The ability to explain complex information in a clear and logical way
- Due to the sensitive classification of the work, this position is only available to British nationals who have the ability to hold appropriate level of UK security clearance for projects
- You will be working in a commercial environment against budgets and deadlines so you will need to be able to think for yourself, be pro-active and have a business-oriented mindset
- We work with clients across the UK so a willingness to work away from your home office on UK projects for extended periods of time or abroad
One or more of the following would be an advantage but is not essential:
- Experience in system safety analysis including fault tree analysis and event tree analysis
- Track record of delivering technically challenging projects
- Experience working on projects in the nuclear industry
- Professional recognition with an appropriate body is an advantage but not essential; if you are currently working towards professional recognition, assistance will be provided
