Afrikindness is recruiting volunteer Science and Maths Mentors to support young people in KS3 and KS4. Mentors will reinforce key concepts, build confidence, and support learning through GCSEpod for young people facing educational and social barriers.
As a volunteer mentor, you will meet with a small group of young people once a week or once a fortnight, either online or in person. You will deliver supportive, accessible lessons aimed at reinforcing core GCSE science or maths concepts rather than replacing school teaching and help them use GCSEpod to understand content, complete assignments, and revise effectively.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong understanding of GCSE-level Science and/or Maths
- Ability to explain concepts clearly, patiently, and encouragingly
- Experience working with or supporting young people (formal or informal)
- Reliable, committed, and able to engage regularly
- Good communication skills
- Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or STEM-related background
