Apply for the Parent Coach & Group Lead – Volunteer role at Afrikindness. We are looking for a Volunteer Parent Coordinator to support us in developing and delivering parenting activities in the UK and building a community where parents can learn, connect, share resources, and support one another.
What difference will you make? You will facilitate the talk show and podcast for the Parent community, lead a team of volunteers, oversee the parent group, and work with our Founder and the education team to build our parent community. You will collaborate with marketing & training consultants to create visually compelling content, and partner with our Research team and CEO to develop research-backed, data-informed programs. You will identify relevant organizations, speakers, and influencers to partner with and share resources and expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Host talk shows, podcasts, webinars, events and conferences; promote, organize and host community events including arranging speakers and professionals in parenting.
- Promote the parent cohort using owned channels and Afrikindness organic reach.
- Write and schedule social-media posts on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook on parenting topics.
- Identify local and international influencers and speakers for conferences and events.
- Ensure community announcements and parenting information are shared, monitor group success and share learnings.
- Partner with relevant agencies to develop and deliver a Kids Academy model to enhance outcomes for children and families.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience delivering programs, webinars and deep knowledge of issues and developmental needs of Black children and parenting.
- Understanding of safeguarding issues related to children.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to plan events and webinars with a positive, supportive approach.
- Awareness of the pressures Black parents face and interest in seeking solutions.

Core Mission
The Parent cohort coordinator will oversee the Afrikindness Parent group, guiding a cohort of Black parents in the UK with healthy parenting skills, positive parenting tips, and self-care. The role builds a supportive network, delivers webinars and events, and raises awareness of the value of community engagement in the Black community. We look for energetic, enthusiastic and committed volunteers who are passionate about parenting, children, young adults, and keen to make a difference in the Black and minority community. Successful candidates will progress to an Executive position. Must be based in the UK and familiar with Black communities and parenting challenges.
