Role Description
This is a volunteer hybrid role for a Parent Coach, based in Leeds with some work-from-home opportunities. The Parent Coach will provide guidance and support to parents, helping them foster positive emotional and racial identity development in their children. Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and facilitating parent support group meetings
- Developing resources and workshops
- Engaging with parents to address their needs
- Working collaboratively with Afrikindness programs and schools
- Helping parents create nurturing environments where kindness and inclusion can thrive
Qualifications
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with parents, children, or communities in counseling, mentoring, or coaching capacities
- Knowledge of cultural diversity, racial identity development, and strategies for promoting inclusion and equity
- Experience developing and delivering educational workshops, support programs, or resources
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and adapt to a hybrid work environment
- Previous experience in non-profit or advocacy work is a plus
