What are we looking for?
- Senior fundraising or partnerships experience (Head of Fundraising, Partnerships Director, or equivalent)
- Proven track record of securing five- or six-figure grants or partnerships
- Strong knowledge of trust and foundation fundraising
- Experience developing and executing fundraising strategies
- Corporate partnership development and relationship management skills
- Excellent written communication and proposal writing
- Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Passionate about community development and social impact
- Networked and confident in building relationships with funders and corporates
Desirable
- Charity or nonprofit sector fundraising experience
- Knowledge of Bradford/Leeds business communities or regional funders
- Major donor or high-value individual giving experience
- Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CIoF) membership or accreditation
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Donorfy, Raiser’s Edge)

What will you be doing?
- Fundraising Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and lead Afrikindness's fundraising and income generation strategy
- Set annual fundraising targets and diversify income streams (trusts, corporates, individuals, events)
- Advise trustees and leadership on financial sustainability and growth opportunities
- Build a sustainable pipeline of funding prospects and opportunities
- Grant Fundraising
- Identify and research trust and foundation funding opportunities
- Lead grant applications, proposals, and funding bids
- Manage relationships with funders and ensure compliance with grant requirements
- Report on outcomes and impact to funders
- Corporate Partnerships
- Develop and manage strategic corporate partnerships (sponsorship, CSR, employee engagement, gifts in kind)
- Cultivate relationships with businesses aligned with Afrikindness's values
- Negotiate partnership agreements and deliverables
- Create compelling partnership propositions and cases for support
- Individual Giving & Community Fundraising
- Develop individual giving and community fundraising programmes
- Support crowdfunding, peer-to-peer, and event-based fundraising campaigns
- Cultivate major donor relationships and stewardship plans
- Explore legacy giving and planned giving opportunities
- Income Diversification
- Explore earned income, social enterprise, or contract opportunities
- Identify innovative funding models (e.g., community shares, social investment)
- Advise on fundraising events, campaigns, and appeals
- Donor Stewardship & Communications
- Ensure excellent donor care, acknowledgment, and reporting
- Work with communications teams to produce compelling fundraising content
- Build donor loyalty and retention through meaningful engagement
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure fundraising practices comply with Charity Commission and Fundraising Regulator guidance
