This highly entrepreneurial group of companies is looking for an interim Financial Controller to cover two of their sites (Lancaster & Rossendale). Operating in a dynamic space, they are committed to offering innovative, sustainability-led solutions to their customers and are pursuing complementary acquisitions on a continual basis. The position is open for an immediate start and is envisaged to be for a period of 3-4 months, possibly longer depending on when they can recruit a permanent candidate into the role.

Key objectives will be:

  • Urgently collate and prepare information for financial year-end in order to provide a clean set of statutory accounts for their first audit.
  • Provide cover for a departing member of the finance team and provide support during the transition period while the new person is recruited.

The ideal candidate for this role would preferably be a fully qualified accountant with demonstrable experience of managing the finance department of a small to medium-sized business. You will be working closely with the MD at each business whilst also reporting into a Divisional Head of Finance based remotely at their parent company. As they are part of a group, there will be reporting deadlines to meet, so the interim candidate must be a strong self-starter able to quickly grasp the issues and work with minimal supervision to stabilise a small finance team at each business.

As one of the sites has recently been acquired, there will also be a requirement to improve controls and processes, maintain budget and forecasting models, and closely manage the working capital cycle and any immediate CAPEX requirements.

This role would suit someone with experience as a professional interim, or perhaps may also appeal to someone immediately available looking for a short interim contract or possibly an interim to permanent opportunity.
