Founded by a leading industry expert, this company specialises in the development and manufacture of niche products and has recently invested heavily in technology and research. This has enabled them to become one of the market leaders in their field whilst also maintaining strong profit margins.
To support planned strategic expansion, they would like to recruit an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to be the site finance lead and report into the Group CFO. The ideal candidate for this position would possess previous experience of a financial management role in a growing SME; Manufacturing / Engineering sector experience would be very advantageous, as their production processes are highly specialised and require careful operational monitoring and control of raw materials and process costs.
The position will carry responsibility for a small finance / admin team and will include:
- Producing the management accounts and board reports
- Preparing cashflow forecasts to tight reporting deadlines
- Creating budgets and reviewing performance
- Developing KPIs and improving reports
- Review and implementation of cost reduction strategies
- Management of cashflow, controlling expenditure / cost
- Investment / CAPEX appraisals
- Controlling all transactional activity
- Preparation of statutory accounts, tax, VAT & HMRC matters
- Managing external relationships with banks and auditors
- Collaborating across the business to support financial performance
You will be joining a close-knit site management team consisting largely of sales and technical experts, so the ability to convey financial matters in a clear and concise manner is essential along with a flair for understanding production and warehousing systems. The role will report into the MD and you will also get exposure to an experienced CFO who has a wealth of experience.
