Our well-known client based in Bury is looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their busy team. Working closely with both the management accountant and the financial accountant, you will assist with monthly accounts ensuring deadlines are hit.
Duties include:
- Providing month end support including preparing, reconciling and posting accruals and prepayments, and fixed assets, intercompany balances etc.
- Analysing and understanding the P&L and balance sheet, proactively identifying and explaining variances and anomalies as they arise.
- Weekly cash flow reporting.
- Carrying out monthly bank statement reconciliations.
- Responsible for processing and paying employee expenses, following the correct process of authorisation.
- Ownership of the fixed asset register.
- Providing assistance and support to complete the year end statutory accounts.
- Petty cash reconciliations.
- Support with completion of quarterly UK and foreign VAT returns.
You must have previous accounting experience to be considered for this role as well as being a good team player, a strong communicator and able to work to tight deadlines.
