This established and growing family business is seeking a capable Company Accountant / Finance Manager to oversee the finances for a c£12m operation. Reporting directly into the MD, you will look after three trading companies and one holding company, managing a small team to ensure financial controls and accurate reporting is in place. My client is looking for a good hands-on accountant who can report the right numbers and support decision making. Experience is more important than qualifications for this role.
The main duties will be:
- Preparing the board report and presenting the financial pack
- Production of the management accounts
- Consolidation of trading results for presentation to bank
- Planning and forecasting cash flow
- Reporting financial KPI's to key stakeholders
- Preparing the stat accounts and audit liaison
- VAT / PAYE / Tax returns
- Analysis for CAPEX and investments
The ideal candidate would have experience of SAGE 50 and be a confident Excel user. Much of the reporting is already in place so you will be expected to maintain monthly close processes and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and in a timely fashion. You will work with suppliers and customers on a daily basis to ensure the finance function supports the needs of the business and interact closely with senior managers and Directors to provide ad-hoc analysis.
My client is keen to recruit someone for the long term who can form a key part of this business and support their continued success. Previous experience as a Management Accountant / Finance Manager in an SME is therefore essential.
