This large manufacturing business is going through an exciting period of change as they transition out of a group and into private equity ownership. As a reknowned brand in their sector they supply market leading equipment and solutions to a global client base and have a reputation for innovation and service that sets them apart from the competition. With this renewed investment they are embarking on an ambitious growth plan and the finance team has been identified as a key area requiring additional resource.
The role will offer a wide range of exposure to both management accounts and financial reporting and would make an excellent stepping stone for someone looking to accelerate their career development. Working closely with an experienced Head of Finance who is willing to train and develop the right individual will enable the successful candidate to become a well rounded Management Accountant and position them strongly for future progression opportunities within the business. Supporting all as aspects of the finance function the key responsibilities will be:

Preparation of monthly management accounts

Assisting with month end close processes

Analysis and reporting of sales and margins

Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments

Work with Head of Finance to prepare budgets and forecasts

Assist in statutory accounts preparation

Prepare information for audit and tax compliance

VAT returns and HMRC liaison

Banking and foreign currency transactions
The ideal candidate for this role would be able to improve processes and controls, maintaining and developing finance systems where necessary. You must have strong Excel skills and preferably exposure to ERP systems or similar. This position would suit an Assistant Accountant looking to step up, with the desire to learn and develop, whilst also taking on more responsibility over time. It is expected that you will be fully promoted to the Senior Management Accountant position in 12- 18 months and you can expect an improvement in salary along the way provided objectives are being met.
