This large manufacturing business supplies market leading products to retail and wholesale customers throughout the UK and worldwide. Operating as a subsidiary of an acquisitive PLC, they have deep financial resources and are now part of a portfolio of well-respected brands within their sector.
As part of their ongoing growth and development they are now looking to strengthen the finance department by recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a busy accounts team and build close working relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Reporting into the Finance Director the successful candidate must have a keen eye for detail, the curiosity to question current processes and a desire to seek continuous improvement. The role would be ideally suited to a newly or nearly qualified accountant, ACCA or ACA with an audit / accountancy practice background preferred but not essential. On offer is the chance to join a well-respected company in a role that could develop into a Financial Controller / Head of Finance position in the future.
Key responsibilities:
Improving financial reporting through clear understanding of business processes and controls
Delivering month end board and management reporting packs, at site and group finance level
Completing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, resolving any key issues
Managing the cash flow forecasting process and liaising with group treasury
Improving processes and controls, delivering required change across the business
Reporting financial performance of operational cost centres
Recording and controlling fixed assets and authorising expenditure
Preparation of annual budgets and information for the group finance team
Driving improvements to the ERP system along with other ad hoc projects when required.
