As they are currently gearing up for further growth they have identified a new role for a Financial Controller to work closely with the site General Manager and be a key part of the senior leadership team. This position will involve managing the finances for the business, providing financial support and analysis, working closely with operations and supply chain managing cost and performance against budget. This will be a stand alone role so applicants must be comfortable undertaking a full range of finance duties in a high value, low volume transaction environment. The ability to positively challenge and multi task between business improvement projects will also be essential qualities for this position. The main responsibilities will be:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and insightful performance reports
  • Working with the SMT to improve budgeting, driving deeper analysis through KPI’s and re-forecasting
  • Overseeing monthly balance sheet preparation and reconciliation, including stock and WIP
  • Submitting group financial reporting requirements, including inter-company transactions
  • Maintaining robust financial controls and processes to minimise risk
  • Developing and maintaining costing data and COGS analysis
  • Drive deeper understanding of manufacturing variances, stock control and valuation
  • Co-ordinating with SMT for presenting annual budget and quarterly re-forecast
  • Support Planning & Production with accurate and timely performance reporting
  • Overseeing sales, purchase ledger transactional activities
  • Liaise with external accountant to produce year end statutory accounts
  • Supporting continuous improvement and development of the ERP system

This position would suit someone able to implement new processes, drive continuous improvement and deliver change in a positive manner. The ideal candidate for the Financial Controller position would have a high level of comfort with ERP Systems, the ability to export and analyse data in Excel and translate this into something meaningful for non-finance managers. The position would suit an experienced Accountant with an engineering or manufacturing background who would enjoy an operational role where their efforts have a real impact on decision making at all levels within the business.
