Job Description

Aforza is looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to head up the Finance function.

The role is broad and ‘hands on’ in nature and covers all aspects of Finance and HR from running payrolls, accounts payable etc through to the preparation of financial statements and financial forecasts.

  • Your Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Financial Controller will:
  • Oversee all group accounting, tax (incl R&D), finance, banking and HR matters.
  • Saa S revenue accounting - revenue recognition policy and process. Deferred revenue and renewals management.
  • Get involved with Sales Contract negotiations in conjunction with the Chief Commercial Officer.
  • Be the primary contact for all finance related matters in the UK, US, UAE and other areas of operation.
  • Manage of employee benefits - Private Medical Scheme, Share Options etc.
  • Manage the Cap table and investor relations.
  • Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts.
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports.
  • Supervise and manage financial department staff, including outsourced accountants and finance assistants.
  • Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  • Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
  • Coordinate with auditors and other professionals to ensure proper compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
  • Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
  • Manage and mentor a Finance Trainee.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Chartered accounting qualification.
  • 10+ years experience working in a tech environment.
  • Significant experience of dealing with Saa S company accounting and allied activities.
  • A hands on approach and a willingness to get involved with a wide variety of activities.
  • Experience of using accounting and banking software.
  • A high level of Excel/Sheets competence and comfortable using AI products for problem solving.
  • An approachable nature and a willingness to explain finance and allied issues to non-finance people in the business.\
  • Strong team spirit and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
