AFME is looking to appoint a Graduate to support the Technology and Operations Division focussing on themes such as Digital Assets (e.g. DLT, Crypto), Operational Resilience, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Data, and Artificial Intelligence. The aim of the division is to facilitate innovation and operational efficiency in capital markets by developing regulatory positions that enable the use of new technologies, supporting the growth of innovation‑based market infrastructures, and providing a platform for members to discuss implementation and management of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the drafting and submission of regulatory and consultation responses
- Assist in the development of advocacy materials on key member issues
- Assist with the administration and governance of Committees and Working Groups (e.g., preparation of agendas and materials)
- Support with running meetings and workshops (e.g., attending meetings, taking minutes, actions, and tracking tasks)
- Monitor technology and operations‑related developments at the European, international and member state level and circulate emails to the team, updating them on key developments
- Collect data for specific research projects
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
- Educated to Master’s degree level.
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Good analytical and report writing skills to be able to gather requirements and draft high‑quality written materials
- Confident reviewing significant amounts of detail and providing analysis
- Enthusiastic and intellectually curious to take on new activities and quickly build knowledge
- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly by developing points of view
- Willingness to learn and an interest in technology and compliance
Desirable:
- Knowledge of new technologies (Cloud, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Distributed Ledger Technology)
- Understanding of financial markets infrastructures
