As a Warehouse Operative on the Day Shift (weekly pattern: 06:00-14:30/13:30-22:00), you will support the Filling Room, consolidate pallets for daily shipments, process filling returns, arrange recycling, and help maintain high standards of warehouse hygiene. You will play an important role in ensuring the warehouse operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.
What You Will Do
- Support Filling Room operations to ensure products are processed efficiently and accurately.
- Consolidate, wrap, label, and prepare pallets for daily shipments and warehouse distribution.
- Receive goods into the warehouse and load/unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including counterbalance, reach, and pallet trucks, completing daily safety checks as required.
- Manage recycling and waste disposal activities, process filling returns, and maintain high standards of warehouse hygiene.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and assist with general warehouse duties as required to support the wider team.
What You Will Need
- Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence/certificate (Reach Truck licence desirable).
- Experience operating powered and manual warehouse handling equipment.
- Excellent manual handling skills and awareness of safe working practices.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- A positive, flexible approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
Physical Demands: This role requires standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, along with regular use of hands and arms for handling equipment and warehouse tasks. The role may also involve climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, and other manual handling activities. You may occasionally be required to manually lift and move items weighing up to approximately 15 kg. Good visual ability is required, including close and distance vision, depth perception, and colour recognition.
