The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Work within the stage gate (Kaihatsu) development process to manage and accomplish the new product development packaging for all areas of the business, across retail, wholesale and e-commerce channels. Working with relevant Kaihatsu project teams, so ensure all key tasks are done, and project is launched on time and to budget.
Working within R&D department, taking the lead in packaging development projects collaborating with other matrix partners within Molton Brown organization. Support the team in packaging, to identify and continuously improve processes and efficiencies and develop the skills within the packaging team.
Key Requirements
- Manage and develop new products/projects following the MB Kaihatsu process and technical packaging development steps (including project budget/artworks/codes and BOM creation/logistical date/creating specs and standards/establishing AQLs with suppliers). Ensuring all parties, suppliers and internal teams are clear on what is required and ensure that the best product for the business is delivered on time and to budget.
- Work with the team and lab manager to develop a robust validation and testing plan for all new products and ensure that these are carried out in a timely manner. Create clear specification & performance criteria. Ensure that the product is not only fit for purpose to MB/Kao standards but also will meet customer expectations.
- Keep abreast of ESG options for all materials being proposed in a project and look for ways to ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ where possible. Propose and lead specific ESG & innovation ideas for new components, and product ideas. Awareness of EPR (UK and European packaging waste regulations).
- Manage and maintain your own admin for expenses and project budgets in a timely manner. Support to manage the department budgets for your travel and your projects within the overall budget plan. Contribute and support in process improvement and efficient ways of working in collaboration with the team.
- Support & represent the department for Packaging / R&D & MB for any initiatives. Including attending events & supporting the management team. Also to review processes and look at opportunities to improve processes and RACI with other areas, so work smarter not just harder.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a product development or technology-related role, including working with suppliers
- Knowledge of product development processes, from concept through to in-store launch
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Office
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions
- High attention to detail
- Curious, persistent, and motivated to learn
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to take initiative
- Background in a technical subject, product design, or 3D product understanding
- Experience with SAP, PLM, or artworking software preferred.
