MEWPS Engineer - Wakefield

Salary for this role is negotiable (DOE) plus overtime.
About the Role
Role Overview In brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:
- Carrying out pre‑delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
- Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
- Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company‑issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
- Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to ensure the depot maintains maximum machine availability.
- Employing skills in mobile engineering, plant maintenance, communication, diagnostics, PDI, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs and powered access.

Requirements
- You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
- Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
- Have experience in fault‑finding/diagnostics.
- Work closely with customers and colleagues, communicating professionally.
- Be able to prioritise tasks in an ever‑changing, demanding hire environment.
- A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
- A valid CAP licence would be desirable.
