This role is a 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract. An opportunity to join AFH Wealth Management, one of the UK’s leading independent financial advisory and wealth management firms. The purpose of this role is to support the day to day operation and continuous improvement of the organisation’s IT infrastructure and communications services. This includes Azure networks, WAN connectivity, unified communications, telephony platforms, mobile device management, and associated cloud services. This is a fixed term role with focus on supporting Group Projects and BAU activity.

As our IT Infrastructure & Communications Specialist, you will typically:

  • Support core IT infrastructure including servers, networks, cloud services, endpoints, and identity platforms
  • Provide remote and on site technical support to resolve infrastructure, network, and communications incidents and requests
  • Support office moves, site changes, and acquisitions, including infrastructure and communications setup
  • Support existing teams in administering telecommunications systems including Cloud hosted telephony, unified communications, and other telephony solutions
  • Support all phone related work associated with acquisitions, including line transfers, number porting, handset deployment, and configuration
  • Manage cloud‑based services that assist with mobile and endpoint management, including Microsoft Intune and AirWatch
  • Provide support for LAN, WAN, MPLS, and communication links, working with service providers where required
  • Manage and maintain accurate documentation for all Geo and Non Geo lines, WAN links, MPLS circuits, and telecommunications services
  • Provide advanced technical insight and guidance to the Support Desk on complex incidents and service issues
  • Regularly update case tracking systems, ensuring accurate status updates and resolution details
  • Maintain project documentation, technical records, and customer facing documentation to a high standard.

What we are looking for in our ideal IT Infrastructure & Communications Specialist:

  • Proven experience supporting IT infrastructure, networks, and communications in an enterprise environment
  • Hands on experience with telecommunications systems such as cloud hosted telephony, mobile device management and unified communications platforms
  • Good understanding of LAN, WAN, IPv4 networking, routing, and subnets
  • Experience providing remote and onsite technical support
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365 or Azure (desirable)
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider IT team
