The role of Finance Business Partner: Energy and Sustainable Cities will directly lead the finance business partnering for the Energy Service Line in the UK. This role is part of the finance team in the UK, reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering: Energy and Sustainable Cities (UK) and the business leads for these services. This role will manage 1 FTE accounting support and work in collaboration with the UK Finance Shared Services for transactional activities.

Job Description – This role provides key support to the Head of Finance Business Partnering Energy & Sustainable Cities (FBP E&SC), from day‑to‑day operations to financial transformation. The role will involve exposure to the wider Egis Group and cross‑functional teams and requires personal credibility to develop successful professional relationships with internal peers and external stakeholders. The right candidate will be a self‑starter, and willing to be agile and adaptable as business needs change.

  • Key point of support to Head of FBP E&SC activity in the UK, and to entity business leads.
  • Support project analysis, validation of plans and ad‑hoc requests.
  • Assist with preparation for meetings with stakeholders to present insights.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly management reporting to the local businesses and group.
  • Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modelling for FBP.
  • Financial support with merger and acquisition (M&A) activity.

Change Management

  • Key support to the future consolidation of legal entities in the UK.
  • Support to integrate new acquisitions within the Nuclear SL into the Egis Group finance processes.
  • Note that we roll‑out a new Oracle ERP in Q1 2025, so this role will need to support the business as it adapts to the new ERP and finance and procurement processes.

Regulatory Activities

  • Manage the company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors.

Qualifications – Skills

  • Advanced Excel and Office skills.
  • Oracle ERP experience is desirable.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills working across a complex matrix organisation.
  • Experience of business transformation.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines with accuracy.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior‑level business leads.
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information.

Educational Background & Experience

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant.
  • Significant accounting work experience, ideally in consulting and engineering projects (performance‑based contracts).

Location – Manchester, hybrid working, minimum 3 days in the office. Regular travel to Oakham, Bristol, Yorkshire and London initially to build relationships, thereafter with an agreed pattern of regular visits (i.e. 4 days/month to Site). Infrequent trips to London (once per quarter).
