Job Description: Reporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead for the UK, the role of Water Senior Quantity Surveyor involves delivering work with water companies or the Environment Agency, predominantly in the Midlands area, with potential consultancy roles in the North West of England. There is also an opportunity for progression between the UK water, environment, and nuclear sectors.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have knowledge and experience in pre- and post-contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC and procurement within the UK water, environment, or nuclear sector. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will drive efficiencies, effective supply chain engagement and contract management using major project experience. You will have experience with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in design and build major capital programmes. We will fully support your personal growth and development, enabling access to full RICS training courses, a path to chartership, or help you develop your career to the level you want. Key Responsibilities
General
- NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC contract management and administration on the client side.
- Budget control.
- Payment valuation and assisting the PM in payment certification.
- Actual cost forecasting and defined cost determination.
- Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with contract requirements and addressing contractual issues.
Pre-Contract
- Feasibility studies and cost planning.
- Preparation of tender documentation.
- Evaluation of tenders.
- Risk management.
Post-Contract
- Management and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Cost control and valuation.
- Evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations.
- Claims and dispute resolution.
- Final accounts and post-project evaluation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Full Membership of a chartered body such as RICS or a substantively progressed APC pathway.
- Experience in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/or Environment sectors.
- Line management and recruitment experience of Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
- CDM regulation knowledge and experience.
- Risk management experience.
- Valid CSCS card; Water Hygiene Card desirable.
- Main contractor and/or joint venture experience on the client side.
- Site presence and co-location minimum 3 days a week.
- Experience with NEC3-4 contracts (A-C-E).
