Location: Coventry
We are seeking a System Engineer to develop and strengthen systems engineering capability within High Voltage (HV) Power Supply and Charging Systems, including Battery and Charging Systems. This role is responsible for building, owning, and maintaining core system engineering artefacts for Powerpacks, applying a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach across relevant use cases. You will lead system definition activities, ensure robust requirement generation and cascade, and drive issue resolution at key functional and interface levels to support successful programme delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and continuously improve systems engineering capability for HV Power Supply and Charging systems.
- Own and govern system artefacts including MBSE models, Logical Architecture Diagrams (LAD), Functional Failure Analysis (FFA), requirements, standards, and DVP.
- Lead system definition, requirements capture, and requirements cascade to support on-cycle programme delivery.
- Link Functional Failure Analysis outputs to commodity-level FMEA to ensure robust system design and risk management.
- Chair technical reviews and resolve complex, cross-functional system issues in collaboration with Battery, Charging, HV Integration, EDU, and Powerpack teams.
- Provide expert technical guidance and support to indirect team members to improve system understanding and delivery quality.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Relevant experience working within a Systems Engineering environment, ideally in the automotive sector.
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Relevant experience in Powertrain Engineering, with a focus on HV Power Supply Systems.
- Experience specifying and designing low-voltage, high-voltage, and control hardware, including understanding of system characteristics and protective requirements.
- Experience in system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, modelling, systems integration, assessment, and acceptance.
- Proven ability to apply structured systems engineering methods to solve complex technical problems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
