We are looking for a dynamic Lead Engineer – Structural Accessories to join our client’s team and drive the delivery of structural commodities such as deployable and fixed side steps, towbars, underbody protection, and self‑recovery winches. The role involves translating programme requirements into robust technical assumptions and leading the development, testing, and release of these structural components across multiple projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of commodities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, engaging with multiple manufacturing technologies, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative, feature‑rich solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross‑functional problem resolution for technical issues.
- Deliver Accessories products meeting quality, cost, weight, and timing requirements.
- Develop concepts during initial programme stages and manage them through to launch.
- Prepare RFQ cost packs and support sourcing activities.
- Generate and maintain commodity plans using relevant tools (e.g., 3DX).
- Manage suppliers to deliver components and systems to relevant standards.
- Generate technical and cost assumptions and manage them throughout the programme.
- Release parts for vehicle build and aftermarket sales via recognised change management processes.
- Plan and manage component and system‑level testing using tools such as DOORS/RTC.
- Ensure ESO and PSW completion aligns with programme timing.
- Support prototype build and launch activities.
Experience
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Experience in electro‑mechanical component/system development and delivery.
- Knowledge of Digi‑Buck, Vis‑Mock‑up, 3DXperience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels.
- Working knowledge of Agile methodology and tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Understanding of PCDS and CCDS frameworks.
- Knowledge of engineering release and change management systems/processes.
- Data analysis and PC skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with problem‑solving tools and leading resolution initiatives.
- Familiarity with WERS, AIMS, RMDV, eAPQP and PSW processes.
