We are seeking a highly organised, analytical, and detail-driven Prototype Analyst to join our team. The primary purpose of this role is to evaluate, track, and optimise prototype tooling usage to ensure maximum value for money across Engineering Operations. You will assess tooling requests, usage patterns, costs, and operational efficiency, enabling informed decisions and improved return on investment for prototype activities. There will also be a need to support the Manager with adhoc tasks as/when required.
This role requires strong analytical capability, confident stakeholder engagement, and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for cost reduction, utilisation improvement, and process optimisation.
Essential Skills- Analytical Thinking: Able to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights related to tooling usage and cost efficiency.
- Planning & Organisation: Effective at managing multiple requests, tasks and deadlines with accuracy.
- Self-starter: Works independently and takes initiative to investigate problems, gather information, and propose solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to collaborate with engineers, workshop teams, procurement, and finance to validate tooling needs and ensure optimal utilisation.
- MS Suite Proficiency: Strong capability with Excel (data analysis, pivot tables, charts), Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Learning Agility: Able to understand prototype processes, tooling technologies and operational requirements.
- Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain insights and technical considerations to non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working under pressure, managing fluctuating workloads and responding confidently to rapidly changing priorities.
- Data & Tools: Experience using workflow management or cost-tracking tools is beneficial.
- Technology Awareness: Understanding of tooling, prototype build processes, or engineering environments is desirable.
- Professional Mindset: Passionate about continuous improvement, operational efficiency and delivering business value.
- A background or qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Data Analysis, Business, Maths, Physics, or Computer Science is advantageous but not essential.

- Valid UK driving licence.
