Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs? We are working in partnership with Orchard Hill College Academy Trust to recruit caring, committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across their South West London schools. The pupils you will support may have a range of additional needs, including Autism and complex needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and specialist staff to support pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping them to access learning, develop independence and thrive within the school environment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom and during structured learning activities
  • Assisting with communication, emotional regulation and social development
  • Supporting pupils outside of the classroom during interventions or enrichment activities
  • Helping to create a calm, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure appropriate support strategies are in place

About You

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Are patient, resilient and passionate about inclusive education
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN or additional needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Are confident supporting pupils with varying learning, behavioural or emotional needs
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
