About the Team

Sugarman Children’s Services delivers specialist support for children and young people through a range of established frameworks. Following successful tender awards, local authorities and commissioners refer children with a variety of educational and support needs directly to our team.

Many of the referrals involve children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), requiring tailored support from highly skilled professionals, including:

  • Qualified Tutors
  • Teaching Assistants and Support Workers
  • Youth Mentors
  • Speech and Language Therapists

Our role is to identify, attract and place the right professionals to support each child’s individual needs and help achieve positive outcomes.

The Opportunity

As a Recruitment Officer, you will play a key role in sourcing and placing high-quality candidates across a variety of specialist disciplines.

Working closely with the wider Children’s Services team, you’ll review referral requirements, identify suitable candidates and ensure we have the right people available to support children and young people across our contracts.

This is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong candidate pipelines, develop lasting relationships and directly contribute to the success of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, attract and engage high-quality candidates across specialist education and support sectors.
  • Build and maintain talent pools of Tutors, Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Youth Mentors and Speech & Language Therapists.
  • Match candidate skills, qualifications and experience against referral requirements.
  • Present suitable candidates for placement opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment journey.
  • Ensure candidate records and compliance information are accurate and up to date.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Recruitment and Service Coordination teams to ensure successful placements.
  • Support the delivery of recruitment targets and service objectives.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in recruitment, resourcing or candidate attraction.
  • Enjoys building relationships and delivering excellent candidate experiences.
  • Is highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Can effectively manage multiple priorities in a busy environment.
  • Has excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Is proactive, resilient and solution focused.
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting services that make a difference to children and young people.

Why Join Sugarman Children’s Services?

This is an opportunity to join a growing and purpose-driven team where your work has a direct impact on the lives of children and young people who require specialist support.

You’ll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, teamwork and professional development, while helping to connect talented professionals with meaningful opportunities.
