Affinity Partnerships are seeking a passionate and skilled English Teacher to take on the additional responsibility of Literacy Lead within a thriving, community focused academy. In this dual role, you will lead the school's evidence based literacy strategy, ensuring all pupils can fully access a challenging, knowledge rich curriculum.

Working collaboratively with Subject Leaders and the Senior Leadership Team, you will:

  • Analyse whole school literacy data to inform priorities
  • Deliver high quality CPD and provide coaching to develop staff expertise
  • Model exceptional classroom practice and support colleagues to embed disciplinary literacy across all subjects
  • Coordinate targeted reading and literacy interventions
  • Drive initiatives that build a strong reading culture across the school

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teachers Status.
  • Have a sound understanding of Secondary Education.
  • Have excellent literacy, Numeracy, and communication skills.
  • Have confidence supporting the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
  • Have experience of supporting children in all aspects of the curriculum.
  • Will be a team player, as well as using their initiative and good sense of humour.
  • Have experience of working with children with a range of additional needs including Autism, Speech and language difficulties and other SEND students, both in small groups and 1:1.
  • Have a positive approach and be flexible to the demands of the job.
