We are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support our partnered school in the Fishponds area. The children have a range of disabilities, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism, and Complex Needs.

Affinity Workforce collaborates with five of their settings: Infants, Juniors, Secondary, Sixth Form, and a Behavioural setting. These settings span across Barton Hill and Fishponds. We are looking for individuals to work 1:1, 2:1 or in small group settings to provide the essential support and care that these children need during a crucial part of their social development.

The Role

Previous experience of this kind would be advantageous, but the role is open to any teaching assistants/psychology graduates who would like to develop their knowledge. The roles we have available vary but they will all be to provide a unique and comfortable learning environment for the individual. This type of support would mostly be on a 1:1 basis however some group work will be involved to try and promote learning socially and developing relationship with the individual\’s peers.

The Desirable Candidate:

  • Have experience in a similar background (desirable)
  • Have experience with family or friends with disabilities such as Autism (desirable)
  • Show resilience and confidence in working with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, providing them the time and support they need to learn
  • Have a strong willingness to learn and expand their skillset within this sector
  • Be energetic and enthusiastic with a commitment to inclusion
  • Be proactive and adaptable
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service is desirable but Affinity Workforce can assist with this
