We currently have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at a Specialist Early Years setting dealing with children with severe and profound disabilities. Our partner school recently received an Outstanding Ofsted inspection commending them as a ”place where pupils feel safe, secure and understood” and that ”The school is calm and orderly. It is a place where pupils thrive”.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who relishes a challenge and wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people. We offer a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing training to ensure everyone is provided with the best possible start to their employment.
The children have a range of disabilities such as Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and children with Complex Needs. It is an 18-place provision, with 3 classrooms for children from Nursery to Year 2.
The ideal candidate will:

Experience in a similar background is desirable

Personal or work experience supporting SEN, in particular ASC.

Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour

The ability to work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn

Strong sense of willingness to learn and expand skillset within this sector

Energetic and enthusiastic with commitment to inclusion
