We currently have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at a Specialist Early Years setting dealing with children with severe and profound disabilities. Our partner school recently received an Outstanding Ofsted inspection commending them as a ”place where pupils feel safe, secure and understood” and that ”The school is calm and orderly. It is a place where pupils thrive”.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who relishes a challenge and wants to make a difference to the lives of children and young people. We offer a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing training to ensure everyone is provided with the best possible start to their employment.

The children have a range of disabilities such as Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC) and children with Complex Needs. It is an 18-place provision, with 3 classrooms for children from Nursery to Year 2.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Experience in a similar background is desirable

  • Personal or work experience supporting SEN, in particular ASC.

  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour

  • The ability to work 1:1 or 2:1 with some students, to give them the time and support they need to learn

  • Strong sense of willingness to learn and expand skillset within this sector

  • Energetic and enthusiastic with commitment to inclusion

  • Proactive and well adaptable
