We have an opportunity for a Street Works Manager to ensure that Affinity Water and our contractor supply chain perform at a consistently high standard, maintaining our leadership in Street Works compliance with regulatory and legislative obligations.
The Role
You will develop close working relationships with all Highway authorities, ensuring the company and its contractors adhere to all Street Works legislation.
• Provide the first escalation point of contact for Highway Authorities, especially regarding poor performance and process failures.
• Act as the company\’s representative in agreeing levels of consequential damage repairs with Highway authorities and internal contractors.
• Review data related to NRSWA S81, S58, CAT A, B & C, reinstatement quality defects, and reinstatement coring programmes.
• Manage your own time, emotions, and relationships with staff, customers, Highway authorities, and internal contractors.
• Work independently and as part of a small team.
• Monitor company and contractor performance against streetworks legislation and take appropriate actions to ensure outcomes and targets are met.
• Analyze data from various internal and external sources, considering external influences like legislation, regulation, and the company\’s reputation.
What you need
- Project management skills, especially for business improvement projects.
- The ability to motivate and coach contractors, internal staff, field staff, and reinstatement administration staff to achieve high-quality performance, providing timely feedback and ensuring a positive customer experience regarding Highway Authority concerns or complaints.
- Compliance with all regulatory requirements, legal obligations, and operational procedures, with the ability to implement processes and provide feedback for improvements.
- A comprehensive understanding of all Street Works legislation and the ability to coach teams working in the public highway to ensure compliance.
- Knowledge of reinstatement processes, materials, and techniques.
- Qualified at Supervisory level under the NRSWA Streetworks Qualifications Register.
- Willingness to travel across the company\’s area daily and at short notice.
- A full UK/clean driving license.
