Key responsibilities

  • Monitor smart meter performance and identify connectivity issues
  • Investigate non-communicating meters using multiple operational systems
  • Diagnose issues such as installation quality, signal strength, or network faults
  • Carry out site visits and field-based inspections
  • Replace, repair, re-pair or reconfigure meters where required
  • Engage with suppliers and network providers to resolve issues
  • Track, monitor, and close out end-to-end resolution of faults
  • Support development of internal processes and performance tracking
  • Maintain accurate records, evidence, and technical data

Essential requirements

  • Field-based operational/technical experience (utilities, metering, telecoms or similar)
  • Experience using operational systems (MDMS and/or work management systems)
  • Full clean UK driving licence (ability to drive a commercial vehicle)
  • Willingness to travel across the central region
  • NRSWA qualification (Operative or Supervisor) and Streetworks SLG

Skills

  • Strong analytical and investigative mindset
  • Comfortable working across multiple systems and datasets
  • Practical, hands-on technical ability in the field
  • Ability to engage with suppliers, contractors, and network providers
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Ability to manage workload and visits independently

Benefits

  • Salary from £33,000k dependant on skills and experience
