Affinity Water is seeking an Environmental Performance Analyst to join our team on a 15-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional who is passionate about sustainability and environmental performance.

Working closely with the Performance & Insight Lead (Environment), you will help ensure environmental data is accurately collected, validated and reported to internal teams, customers and external stakeholders. You will provide valuable insights that support informed decision-making and help shape future environmental performance. The role is expected to have an initial focus on operational greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity, with opportunities to broaden your scope as the team develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate and validate primary data used to calculate greenhouse gas emissions across Affinity Water.

  • Use the Water Sector Carbon Accounting Workbook to estimate and report greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Support the Ecology Team in collating and reporting biodiversity data.

  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting and compliance with external standards.

  • Contribute to third-party assurance activities.

  • Drive continual improvements in reporting quality and implement innovative solutions.

  • Create dashboards and visualisations to communicate environmental performance effectively.

  • Produce accurate and timely internal performance reports.

  • Monitor the delivery of environmental performance improvement plans.

  • Engage with regulators, Water UK and industry groups to help shape future approaches to greenhouse gas accounting.

  • Provide administrative support to governance groups overseeing emissions reduction initiatives.

  • Represent Affinity Water at industry conferences, events and forums where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and analytical individual with a passion for environmental performance and data-driven decision-making.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree educated in a relevant discipline.

  • Experience in data collation, validation and analysis.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Desirable Criteria

  • Membership of, or affiliation with, a recognised environmental management body.

  • Ability to summarise and communicate technical information clearly.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
