Affinity Water has an exciting opportunity to join our Water Resources Planning team as an Asset Manager – Demand.

The Role: As an Asset Manager specialising in Demand, you will play a central role in shaping how Affinity Water responds to environmental pressures, climate change, and population growth. You will lead the development and delivery of our Water Demand Strategy, providing key inputs into our statutory Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) and supporting major long-term water resource schemes. Working as a core member of the WRMP team, you will analyse demand trends, guide strategic planning, collaborate across the business, and represent Affinity Water at a regional level. Your work will directly influence how we reduce demand, protect supplies, and meet our long-term commitments across all supply regions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the development of Affinity Water’s long-term Water Demand Strategy and demand-side options across all supply regions.
  • Contributing to the statutory Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP), authoring key sections and shaping strategic recommendations.
  • Analysing water usage data, trends, and forecasts to optimise demand-management decisions.
  • Representing Affinity Water in regional water resource groups (WRSE and WRE) and working closely with regulators and planning partners.
  • Supporting the Price Review process by developing business cases and contributing to annual regulatory reporting.
  • Preparing clear reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, while providing guidance and support to junior team members.

What you’ll need:

  • A degree or master’s in a relevant discipline, with experience in Water Resources Management Planning is essential.
  • Proven background in demand forecasting, strategic planning, or analysis of water demand and consumption.
  • Strong understanding of water resource systems, supply infrastructure, and distribution networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and brief senior leaders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience in a regulated industry and/or membership of a professional environmental body (desirable).

Benefits:

  • Salary: £58,000 - £64,000 (salary dependant on skills and experience)
  • Hours of work: 8.30am-5.00pm (Mon - Thurs) and 8.30am - 4.30pm (Friday)
