Location: Stort region – Saffron Walden / Harlow

What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding, repairs, and maintenance on critical water treatment infrastructure.
- Interrogate PLC systems and work with complex treatment processes.
- Conduct planned and preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and improve efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the production team and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Ensure compliance with water quality and health & safety regulations.
- Keep accurate records and documentation.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- City and Guilds Electrical Installation Level 3 or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of PLCs, motors, and the ability to interpret electrical schematic drawings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with great attention to detail.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations.
- A positive, adaptable attitude — you’ll be tackling new challenges daily!
Desirable experience
- Experience in the water industry, manufacturing, food production, automotive, or similar fields.
- A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

A Day in the Life of a Production Technician
