Our Water Resources Planning team is helping to steer Affinity Water through its largest and most interesting challenges, identifying, defining and promoting the demand management and new infrastructure schemes that are needed to let the business adapt to the challenges of environmental need, climate change and growth.
For this role you will be asked to act as a key member of the Water Resources Management Plan (WRMP) team contributing to the production and delivery of our statutory WRMP and our major water resource development schemes. You will also be asked to actively participate and contribute to Affinity Waters involvement in regional water resources planning.
What you'll be doing:
- Project management of WRMP work packages with a focus on Supply
- Technical lead for some aspects of our major water resource infrastructure development schemes, including modelling and engineering workstreams, and managing the development of resilient infrastructure strategies to support the integration of those schemes into our network
- Production of WRMP technical appendices
- Liaison with regulators and key stakeholders including water companies
- Representation on Water Resources in South East (WRSE) and Water Resources East (WRE) regional groups
- Management of consultants to deliver work packages
- Environment lead for water resources planning including Strategic Environmental Assessment and application of natural capital approach
What you need:
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
- Experience of Water Resources Management Planning
- Ability to summarise technical information and effectively support briefing of senior leaders to support decision making
- Understanding of Strategic Environmental Assessment and its application
- Ability to influence and manage relationships (and manage stakeholder engagement)
- Experience within a regulated (and/or competitive) industry is desirable but not essential
- Member of / affiliation to an environment management body is desirable but not essential
