Are you passionate about connecting people, shaping culture, and bringing an organisation's story to life? We're looking for an innovative Communications and Engagement Manager to lead our internal communications and help colleagues feel informed, inspired, and connected to our mission, values, and strategic goals.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of People to create clear, inclusive, and engaging communications – whether that's sharing operational updates, rolling out important policies, or celebrating the incredible achievements of our people and the individuals we support. You'll help define and deliver an internal communications strategy, ensuring every message is purposeful, accessible, and resonates across the organisation.
This is a role that combines strategic thinking with hands‐on creativity. From developing content and coordinating campaigns to managing channels and enhancing our employer brand, you'll play a central part in strengthening trust, promoting a positive culture, and making sure every colleague feels heard – especially those in frontline or remote roles.
What will you do?
- Develop and deliver internal communications strategies that support business objectives, company culture, and the employer brand.
- Manage all channels, including newsletters, SharePoint, and campaigns, creating engaging content and ensuring accessibility for all employees.
- Drive two‐way communication through feedback tools, surveys, and dialogue platforms, while monitoring effectiveness and refining strategies based on insights.
- Lead employer brand communications to enhance reputation on platforms such as Glassdoor and Indeed.
- Collaborate with marketing, social media, and external affairs teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment between internal and external communications.
- Support a positive, inclusive, and values‐driven culture through engagement initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to address employee feedback, implement action plans, and celebrate achievements organisation‐wide.
- Track communications performance using analytics and feedback, introducing best‐practice approaches and evidence‐based improvements.
- Ensure all activities comply with legislation and organisational policies, reporting progress and opportunities to senior leadership.
What will we do?
- We offer hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in Thame)
- 31 days' annual leave (including bank holidays), rising with service
- Health cash plan, pension, life assurance, Employee Assistance Programme
- Blue Light Card, Cycle2Work, and the option to buy extra holiday

Inclusion, Accessibility and Our Commitment to Diversity
Diversity is key to what we do. Life would be dull, and change slow, if we all thought the same way. We want colleagues who bring different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences, and we know this makes us stronger and better for the people we support.
We are committed to being Disability Confident and guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy. We're also committed to making our recruitment process as accessible as possible. If you need any reasonable adjustments at any stage, for example, accessible formats, support with the application form or adjustments for interview, you can tell us in your application or contact our recruitment team to discuss what you need.
Ready to Join Us?
If you're ready to drive communications that make a real impact, connect colleagues to what we do, and help our culture thrive in a values‐led charity, this could be your next role.
When offered the role, you will be required to have a DBS check at the relevant level, which we'll cover the cost for.
