As a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) practitioner, you will help children and young people with learning disabilities, autism, and other support needs to transform their lives.

Location: York and Scarborough

Salary: £26,363.57 plus mileage

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including travel time

Requirements:

  • Full UK manual driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel across the area
  • Previous experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities and autism

Responsibilities:

You will work with children and young people who may not be accessing education and who may be at significant risk of entering specialist residential care.

How You’ll Make a Difference:

Every young person we support will benefit from different strategies and interventions to help them flourish in a safe environment. You will take time to understand the lived experience of the young person, and support them, their families, carers and other professionals to learn and apply the appropriate positive behaviour support techniques. Your support will enable young people to stay in their current placements, access their communities and build tools they will use for the rest of their lives to live great, independent lives. Using techniques built on the principles of inclusion, choice and participation, your support could be the difference between a locked door and an open path to independence.

Development and Training:

If you do not already hold a BTEC Level 4 in Positive Behaviour Support you will be enrolled onto this course and supported throughout your studies while you work with us. Upon completion you will receive a salary increase to £28,325. You will receive regular clinical supervision from experienced professionals to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role. We will continue to invest in your professional growth within our CYP Division by fully funding everything required to maintain your UK SBA professional registration, including your annual UK SBA fee, DBS, safeguarding training and liability insurance. As a registered APD provider, we will also support your ongoing development with a minimum of 6 APD provided in house each year, so you can focus on delivering outstanding practice while we fully support your professional career.
