Join our team in supporting four ladies and a gentleman living in their home in Necton. As a Support Worker, you'll help the people we support enjoy a varied and fulfilling everyday life, with their interests and choices at the heart of what you do. From accompanying them to day centres and supporting visits to family, to enjoying walks and shopping trips, there's plenty of variety. You'll also support days out to the beach, visits to the zoo and shopping centres, and trips to explore local towns and browse the shops. It's an opportunity to build meaningful relationships while helping people enjoy the activities that matter to them. "Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010". We can teach you everything you need to know about supporting people well. What we can't teach you, is the stuff that comes from within: That buzz you get when you celebrate someone's wins - big or small. That natural sense of wanting to make someone's day brighter. That understanding that climbing a mountain starts with a single step. In essence, that's what we are looking for from you. What does it mean to be a support worker? Think about your daily routine and what matters to you. If you needed support to keep your day the way you like it, what would be important to you? In this role, you will:

  • Take time to understand what a great day means to the person you support.
  • Adjust your approach to meet people's needs and build on both their strengths and your own.
  • Help build a supportive environment that encourages everyone to thrive and gives them the freedom to live their life their way.
  • People are at the heart of everything we do and as a support worker you will embody our core values by: Working together
  • Respecting the strengths and differences of the people you work with
  • Communicating openly and building trust.
  • Helping each other to provide the best support possible.
  • Giving our best
  • Being dedicated to making a difference in people's lives.
  • Whether the day was easy or tough, taking responsibility for your actions and focusing on what matters most to those who you support.
  • Having courage
  • Being open to new ideas and approaches.
  • Using creativity and flexibility to try different ways of helping others.
  • Providing the most effective and adaptable support possible.

If you are offered a role with us, you will need to complete an enhanced DBS check. We will submit your application and pay for your check.

Please note that we are actively shortlisting candidates throughout the duration of the advert, interviews will be held as soon as possible and we will make an offer immediately if we find the right candidate.

We're committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
