Training Provided: Full training provided. Opportunities to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
Required: At times you will be required to attend training and team meetings during the day, outside of your normal night work pattern.

Who will I support? You will be working alongside 6 people with learning disabilities and Autism, who share a home in Newbury, Berkshire. They may want to stay up late and watch a film, listen to music with a hot chocolate, or enjoy a relaxing bath before going to bed. Or they may be early risers and want your support to get up and ready for the day ahead, so your role will be to provide responsive support during the night and early morning as required.
You will be working a set pattern across a 2-week rota, please ensure you can commit to this before applying.
- Week 1: Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday
- Week 2: Mondays, Tuesday and Thursday
How will I make a difference? As a support worker you’ll be there to lend a helping hand in a way that puts the person’s needs first, this means:
- You will adapt your support to fit what each person needs and wants daily.
- You will encourage people to make their own choices, big and small.
- You will help people to do things themselves to be as independent as possible.
- You will support people to build confidence and life skills.
- You will support people to be a part of their community, joining local clubs and connecting with friends and family.
- You will be understanding, allowing people to take their time and do things at their own pace.
- You will celebrate people’s achievements, no matter how small they might seem to others.
