About the Role
Affinity Staff Limited is seeking experienced Senior Residential Support Workers to take on shift leadership agency roles within Ofsted-registered residential homes for young people across Solihull and the wider West Midlands.
As a Senior Support Worker on shift, you will lead floor routines, mentor junior staff, oversee care plan implementation, and ensure regulatory compliance during your assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts effectively, delegating duties and ensuring handovers and routines run smoothly.
- Provide direct therapeutic care and emotional guidance to young people with complex behavioral and emotional needs.
- Handle crisis interventions and manage challenging incidents using accredited de-escalation techniques.
- Support floor staff with guidance, debriefs, and quality assurance on shift documentation.
- Liaise with social workers, educational staff, guardians, and multidisciplinary external agencies.
- Oversee medication administration and ensure full alignment with Ofsted guidelines and home policies.
About You
- Essential: Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an Ofsted-registered children s residential home, including senior or shift-lead responsibilities.
- Proven leadership abilities with strong conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
- Valid Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
- Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or prepared to undergo a new check).
