The Role

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Senior Support Worker to join a residential childcare team. In addition to providing day-to-day care, you will take on a leadership role within the home, supporting less experienced staff and helping to maintain high standards of care. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, ensuring children and young people feel safe, supported, and encouraged to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards and individual care plans
  • Act as a role model and provide guidance to Support Workers on shift
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Support daily routines including education, activities, appointments, and home life
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and personal development
  • Manage challenging behaviour using a calm and therapeutic approach
  • Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulations
