Our client, a boutique trading firm with office locations across London, New York, and Hong Kong , is looking for an IT/Infrastructure Specialist to join their dynamic, ambitious team.
Position Overview:
As an IT/Infrastructure Specialist , you will support and enhance the fund’s technology infrastructure, including servers, databases , and trading systems . You will play a critical role in ensuring the security, speed , and reliability of mission-critical systems that drive trading performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the firm’s servers, databases, and networks to ensure seamless operations.
- Support and optimize trading systems for speed, scalability, and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in real time.
- Implement and oversee system security protocols to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Automate processes for system monitoring, deployment , and backups to enhance operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with trading, quant, and development teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
- Document infrastructure processes and provide ongoing technical support.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing Linux/Unix and Windows servers .
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls , and cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure ).
- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and server optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash , or PowerShell for automation.
- Familiarity with trading systems and low-latency environments is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of system security best practices and tools.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
