SEN Teaching Assistant (BHSENTASMRS) Somerset, England
Affinity Partnerships is recruiting dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools throughout Somerset.

These roles are ideal for individuals with experience in education, care, support work, youth work, or anyone passionate about helping children reach their full potential.
Due to increasing demand across our partner schools, we are seeking Teaching Assistants who are confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assist children with additional learning, behavioural, or communication needs
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities
- Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence
- Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual pupil needs
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
About You
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals (desirable)
- Background in education, SEN, care, support work, youth work, or similar sectors
- Patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach
- Passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles
- Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference
