Affinity Partnerships is delighted to be working with Briarwood School to recruit exciting opportunities for Personal Care Assistants to join the OFSTED Outstanding Special School in Knowle. Briarwood School is expanding and will support 233 children and young people aged 3 to 19 years in September 2026. To support the expansion, Affinity Partnerships is looking for caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Care Assistants to join Briarwood School’s dedicated team across all sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out personal care routines with/for pupils (including manual handling, training will be provided).
  • Assist in the break and lunchtime supervision of pupils to ensure that their drink/meal is completed on time in a safe and hygienic setting.
  • Deliver food in the consistency and way suitable for each pupil according to their personal eating and drinking needs.
  • Support hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions.
  • Deliver a range of appropriate lunchtime play or leisure activities for pupils to ensure that lunchtime is an enjoyable experience for all children.
  • Provide further training to assist pupils that are tube fed and for the administration of medication.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be compassionate, patient, and respectful.
  • Support pupils in accessing their environment and community.

Candidates must bring energy and enthusiasm with a commitment to inclusion. A planned induction within a strong and supportive multi-professional team will be provided.
