Make a meaningful difference every day. We are currently recruiting for full-time and part-time SEN Support Mentors (8:45am–3:45pm) to join the dedicated team at our partnered Special Needs School in Fishponds. Our partnered school is a highly respected specialist provision supporting children and young people aged 3–19 years with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The school is known for its nurturing approach, highly skilled staff, and commitment to enabling every student to reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a SEN Support Mentor, you will support pupils across primary and secondary phases with a variety of complex needs, which may include:

  • Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Physical disabilities and medical needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and build essential life skills within a supportive and structured environment. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support tailored to individual learning plans
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and engagement
  • Assisting with personal care where required
  • Helping create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Ideal candidates:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
  • Are confident supporting a range of needs, including complex and medical needs
  • Can manage and respond positively to challenging behaviour
  • Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Are patient, flexible, and proactive
  • Are comfortable supporting with personal care tasks
  • Are passionate about inclusion and helping every child succeed
