We are seeking an experienced AEA Supervisor to join our Operations team at RAF Valley on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will play a key part in the day-to-day maintenance of Aircrew Equipment Assemblies (AEA), ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence. You will work collaboratively to support our mission of delivering trained pilots as part of the UKMFTS programme, while promoting a strong safety culture aligned with Affinity values.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of the AEA Departmental Exposition.
- Ensure all AEA is correctly sized, fitted, and issued to aircrew/students before training.
- Record all AEA/SE issues accurately on the appropriate pro-forma.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to maximise equipment availability.
- Maintain adequate stocks of serviceable AEA/SE for training and operational needs.
- Ensure accurate upkeep and safe custody of all AEA & SE documentation.
- Oversee maintenance, rectification, and modification of AEA/SE at Affinity sites in line with authorised publications.
- Update manuals/publications and amendment records as required.
- Submit MOD defect and unsatisfactory feature reports when necessary.
- Adhere to safe working practices and comply with COSHH, Health & Safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet Quality Assurance standards and elevate non-conformities.
- Promote and implement safe working practices in AEA and SE maintenance areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years in an SE/AEA supervisory role.
- Proven track record in operational AEA maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multi-site teams.
- Strong relationship-building skills in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Essential Qualifications:
- Q-SE-AC or GAEA qualification.
- Human Factors training.
Desirable:
- Recognised training qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of AEA and SE maintenance methods.
- Ability to fault-find, diagnose, and instruct aircrew on functional fit.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with MoD maintenance forms.
- Excellent communication, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and a strong team player.
