Children's Residential Support Worker About Us Affinity Children’s Care is a therapeutic residential childcare provider, offering a variety of residential placements to young people between the ages of 8 – 18 who may display emotional and challenging behaviours (EBD). The young people placed within our services have often experienced significant adversity and trauma in their young lives and may no longer able to reside within their familial / foster home. Our Aim Affinity Children's Care create a safe and sustainable nurturing environment for our young people and a developmental and rewarding workplace for our care team. We ensure our team(s) adhere to Ofsted standards and guidelines referencing the Children’s Act and Children’s Care Standards, Ofsted is the looked after children’s regulatory body. Salary £37,275.89 pa (inclusive of sleeps), rising to £37,803.79 pa following a successful 6 month probation period. Our salaries are paid above the minimum wage and proven to be competitive with other establishments within the area. Our vacancy is open to experienced candidates who hold their Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner or Level 3 Children’s and Young People's Workforce. We may also consider a person with a level 3 Health and Social Care with experience and understanding of the challenges young people and carers face within a residential care setting. Role of Responsibilities of Support Worker * Provide daily support, guidance and care to young people within the residential settings and community. * Participating and engaging in activities. * Maintaining a safe and clean home environment, including the completion of all domestic duties and providing home cooked meals. * Develop and implement individualized care plans, risk assessment tailored and key works to each young person's needs. * Lone working with the young person and professional bodies may be required. * Foster positive relationships with team members and young people through effective communication. * Ensure the safety and well-being of young people at all times. * Maintaining confidentiality at all times, reporting directly to your line manager any information or concern in a timely manner. * Collaborate with team members and external professionals to support young people's progress. * Maintain accurate records on ClearCare of care activities, incidents and care plans. * Promote a supportive and enjoyable environment. * Adhere strictly to Ofsted standards, Children’s Act, and Children’s Care Standards. The working pattern is based on a 3 week-rolling rota basis, calculated at 56.4 hours per week(sleeps included), equating to 1 day on, 2 days off (07:30am-10:30pm + sleep). Sleep shifts are included in the annual salary and payment of which is guaranteed when on annual leave. A full UK driving licence is essential as you will have access to the company care, in order to drive the young person/s to appointments,education,contacts and social events.
