We are seeking compassionate Senior Support Workers to join our dedicated team at Affinity Children's Care to play a vital role in supporting our young people's emotional well-being and development, adapting to the PACE model and therapeutic parenting to align with our mission to foster safe and nurturing environments.

Hours of Work: 56.5 hours per week/244.5 hours per month inclusive of sleeps (07:00-10:00 plus sleep and half an hour handover the next day 07:00-07:30). Working hours average at 10 shifts per month with the attendance of training and team meetings. The employee's shifts are based on a 3-week rolling rota working alongside their senior co-worker.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct supervisions, personal development plans and attend all mandatory and relevant training.
  • Lead a team in the absence of Manager or Deputy Manager.
  • Participate and engage in activities to promote a supportive and enjoyable environment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean home environment, including the completion of all domestic duties and providing home cooked meals.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, risk assessments tailored and key works to each young person's needs.
  • Lone working with the young person and professional bodies may be required.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members and young people through effective communication.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of young people at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, reporting directly to your line manager any information or concern in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with team members and external professionals to support young people's progress.
  • Maintain accurate records on ClearCare of care activities, incidents and care plans.
  • Adhere strictly to Ofsted standards, Children Act, and Children Care Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner, Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience working with children or in residential childcare settings is essential.
  • Valid UK driving license is essential.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of PACE, therapeutic parenting but training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of care planning is advantageous.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • An understanding of the challenges and trauma young people face within a residential care setting.
