Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can support the running of a busy kitchen and make a difference every day? My client is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join their team in a care home near Lowestoft. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of residents by helping deliver freshly prepared, nutritious meals.
Main Purpose of the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the Cook and catering team in preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth-running dining service for residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of meals and fresh baked goods.
- Help set up and clear the dining area, maintaining a welcoming environment.
- Wash up and keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy, and safe.
- Store stock correctly and assist with managing supplies.
- Support the catering team with general duties to ensure high standards of service.
- Interact with residents where appropriate to provide a friendly, helpful service.
Training & Development
- Complete all mandatory training and attend additional training as required.
- Comply with food hygiene, health & safety, and care standards regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and promote the home positively within the community.

- Experience: Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred (training provided).
- Skills: Team player, reliable, and able to follow instructions clearly.
