We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead a 3-bedded EBD children's home in Bedford (MK42). This service has recently been taken over by new owners following the previous provider losing its registration, and the new leadership team is committed to rebuilding the home to the highest standards of care, stability, and compliance.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a service from the ground up, supported by a dedicated team including three Support Workers, a Responsible Individual, and two hands-on Directors who are deeply invested in achieving excellence. The organisation has long-term expansion plans, but their priority is clear: make this first home outstanding before opening additional services.

Who We're Looking For

We want a passionate, child-focused leader who can bring stability, quality and regulatory excellence to a home that is ready for a fresh start. You must have:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) (or already working towards it)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a children's residential setting at Deputy Manager level or above
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and quality standards
  • Confidence in leading a team and driving continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Ideal candidates will already be Registered Managers, but strong Deputy Managers ready to step up will also be considered.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the day-to-day running of the children's home
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted and all statutory requirements
  • Provide strong leadership, coaching and development for the staff team
  • Create a nurturing, therapeutic and trauma-informed environment for young people
  • Drive quality, safeguarding, and continuous improvement
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, local authorities and external agencies

What You'll Receive

  • £45,000 - £50,000 Basic Salary (Depending on Experience) Plus Bonuses and other benefits
  • Supportive leadership from the Responsible Individual and Directors
  • The chance to shape a newly re-established home into something outstanding
  • Genuine autonomy and trust to lead your service
  • Free parking

  • 2 placements currently (ages 13–15)
  • Newly acquired by leadership with a focus on quality and compliance
  • A committed team already in place and ready for strong managerial guidance
